The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the hotel’s standards of high quality are upkept and met daily. They report directly to the Chief Engineer of the property and handle tasks assigned. The Maintenance Technician will learn under the Maintenance Supervisor while honing their skills for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently.
- Conduct repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including tasks completed, materials used, and time spent.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly as part of a PM schedule.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to guests.
- Stay updated on hotel policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies in a neat and orderly fashion

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in basic repair and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
