Your Role:
The Director of Human Resources develops and leads HR strategy, goals, and programs to foster a high-performance, employee-oriented culture. They manage recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, health and safety, and HR compliance for the Firm.
Our team members are expected to communicate clearly, be independent and resourceful problem-solvers, and follow through with all delegated tasks. Each team member is also expected to employ the highest level of confidentiality in all aspects of their work.
This individual will often wear many hats – making their role dynamic and requiring a combination of interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Overall, they will play a key role as a bridge between employees and management, contributing to the overall success of the organization's human resources function.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist management with the following tasks—
- Collaborate with partners to provide strategic HR guidance and enhance organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Align HR priorities, goals, policies, and performance indicators with the firm’s strategic business plan.
- Lead talent management efforts, including workforce planning, succession, performance management, and employee development.
- Build productive relationships across all firm locations, traveling to satellite offices at least three times a year.
- Oversee HR functions, performance, and manage a team of HR professionals.
- Ensure HR policies align with business objectives, laws, and regulations.
- Lead recruitment and retention strategies to ensure an adequate workforce.
- Develop leadership assessment and effectiveness programs.
- Assess special programs like awards and wellness initiatives for impact.
- Manage compensation strategy, job descriptions, surveys, and merit/incentive processes.
- Advise leadership on personnel actions like hiring, terminations, and salary recommendations.
- Manage HR department budget and resource allocation.
- Oversee employee performance evaluations and create professional development opportunities.
- Maintain employee health, safety, and legal compliance initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, business, or related field preferred.
- Five or more years’ experience in Human Resources
- Two or more years’ experience in HR management in a professional setting, ideally in a law firm, with a proven track record of achieving results through others.
- SPHR/PHR Certification a plus.
