Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Lead Design Engineer to assist with our projects in Indianapolis, Indiana!
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Design Engineer will be responsible for technical accuracy of project design details and plans, including:
- Assigning projects to design staff
- Monitoring and meeting project scope, schedules and budgets
- Mentoring/assisting design staff to complete projects
- Reviewing plans, reports and design calculations prepared by staff
- Preparing submittals to review agencies (Municipalities, Counties, Drainage Boards, Utility Companies, etc.)
- Preparing bidding documents / specifications
- Assisting the Project Manager with Construction Administration & Project Closeout
- Communicating with Project Managers, Senior staff and Management
- Occasional attendance at meetings, including job sites, regulatory agencies, and public municipal meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Indiana PE license required.
- 8 to 12 years of experience managing the design of site-civil land development projects (public, commercial, industrial, residential, energy) required, with the ability to obtain MSG project management training certification within 12 months.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading and pipe networks/profiles is required.
- Proficiency preparing Permits, development plan, erosion control, and stormwater management permits/approvals in Indiana required.
- Experience with grading, stormwater management, and utility design preferred.
- Experience with utility and utility provider coordination preferred.
- Experience with bid document preparation, construction bidding, and construction administration, and notice of termination preferred.
