Qualifications
As a Geotechnical Intern, you will work closely with our geotechnical engineering team to support various projects related to soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and geotechnical investigations. This position offers hands-on experience in conducting fieldwork, laboratory testing, data analysis, and report writing. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to gain insight into the practical application of geotechnical engineering principles in real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Fieldwork: Assist in conducting field investigations including soil sampling, test pit excavations, and in-situ testing such as standard penetration tests (SPT) and cone penetration tests (CPT).
- Laboratory Testing: Participate in laboratory testing of soil and rock samples including moisture content, grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, and consolidation tests.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in collecting field data and laboratory test results, and perform basic data analysis to support engineering calculations and design.
- Report Writing: Assist in preparing geotechnical investigation reports, design calculations, and technical documentation.
- CAD/GIS Support: Utilize CAD/GIS software to assist in drafting site plans, cross-sections, and geotechnical mapping.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management / Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related fields.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in outdoor environments as required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
