Pool Maintenance Technician
Summary Maintains and inspects the Club’s pools and fountains on a daily basis following the proper procedures for their cleanliness, safety and sanitation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleans and maintains the Club’s pools and fountains by vacuuming, brushing, and skimming, keeping them clean and up to safety standards.
- Maintains optimal balance and safety of pool water by ensuring correct color, chemistry and clarity.
- Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants or correct other problems.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance.
- Inspects, installs, and repairs pool equipment, such as filters, pumps, motors, heaters, automated control systems, and intake and drain valves.
- Maintains accurate records of pool maintenance activities, completed repairs and water test results.
- Keeps safety equipment inspections up to date.
- Requisitions &/or orders chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Assists the maintenance department with general maintenance duties.
- Follows all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License Requirements: State of Florida Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification and a Valid Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR).
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
