What You’ll Be Doing
While working under the direction of VP of Operations, the Working Shift Lead has the overall responsibility of leading/supervising 2nd Shift and its production. This is a working lead position and will be expected to operate all equipment as well as lead the shift and its production. This position is not only responsible for production and inspection at HighNote, but also verifies that all work meets customer needs and HighNotes requirements and quality standards.

Requires high school diploma (or equivalent); and at least three years of estimating or planning or at least 5 years operator experience in the printing industry. A college degree and/or courses related to Graphic Arts would be a plus.

- Experience as a lead in a print, mail, bindery manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively and communicate with production and management teams.

- Must have flexible work hours, with the understanding that hours may change based on customer needs.
- Motivates, develops, and directs the work of HighNotes production.
- Schedule, prioritize, and execute job responsibilities to achieve on time completion.
- Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at the level of detail required to resolve issues.
- Sets clear expectations for performance, holds employees accountable to work standards, and appraises performance on an ongoing basis.
- Identifies developmental needs of employees. Provides coaching, mentoring, and necessary resources for employees to expand their job knowledge, skills and abilities.

- Basic math skills and sound mathematical reasoning.
- Previous experience training employees’ planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee complaints and resolving problems with the assistance of Human Resources; maintain positive employee-employer relations; and handling confidential employee issues with discretion.
- Must have an organized approach to task completion and excellent attention to detail.
- Good organizational and communication skills required.
- Available to work overtime and some weekends when necessary.
