Position would close the store. Current closing time is 9pm.

MANAGER ON DUTY - MOD

Summary:

The MOD assists the Store Director in maintaining a positive work environment for employees and a positive shopping environment for the customer providing the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices. The MOD assists the Store Director by effectively running and monitoring the entire store during his/her shift. The primary emphasis of this position is to provide store supervision and employee development. This position assumes responsibility for the entire store operations and related decisions as assigned in absence of store director and assistant store director. Strong supervisory, administrative and employee relations skills are essential. Position requires ability to encourage individual and group effort toward defined goals and to provide trainings, development and work direction in a supportive and consistent manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Demonstrates understanding of store priorities and can anticipate changes

-Shows initiative in problem solving

-Can readily adjust to changing conditions

-Keeps store director informed to store conditions and decision made

-Monitors the hour-to-hour store appearance and conditions to ensure high standards of cleanliness, efficiency and productivity

-Checks that store security conditions are maintained

-Assesses store conditions in each department no less than once per hour

-Checks conditions of parking lot and grounds

-Checks for product availability, proper rotation, quality, freshness of perishables and correct pricing

-Monitors employee effectiveness and productivity and ensures efficient labor utilization

-Ensures store policies and procedures are enforced

-Checks that safety procedures are followed and that working conditions are safe

-Performs store personnel functions as necessary

-Performs delegated store director responsibilities in the absence of store director or as assigned'
