We are recruiting for Life Enrichment Coordinator and Fitness Instructor. In this role you will be responsible scheduling and implementing our fitness program and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being. Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Life Enrichment Coordinator/Fitness Instructor:
- Organize and implement progressive and safe exercise programs for individuals and groups; plan physical activity events; instruct group and individual exercise classes; monitors results on an individual and group basis.
- Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all resident activities including special events.
- Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees.
- Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in the area of disease prevention and management in the holistic spirit of the Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness Program.
- Lead daily resident activities per our community standards.
- Assist with preparing and distributing monthly calendars according to the Community standards.
- Plan and execute diverse and engaging programs to meet the needs of a diverse resident population including newly retired seniors seeking a carefree lifestyle, seniors in need of physical assistance, and seniors in varying stages of memory loss.
- Assists with movement of residents to on and off campus events. May also transport residents in Marshes vehicles when requested.
- Cross train for other positions and fill in as needed, such as Concierge and Transportation department,
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Associates or bachelors degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required.
- Health/Fitness Certification and/or degree required.
- Adult CPR/AED/ and First Aid certification required.
- Administrative experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in al Microsoft office products and be able to learn other systems.
- Possession of a Georgia driver's license required and must have a good driving record.
- Six (6) months experience working with seniors in activities/life enrichment preferred
Here are a few of the physical requirements:
- Frequent standing, stopping, bending, stretching, squatting for approximately 80% of the workday.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to push residents weighing up to 250 lbs. in wheelchairs.
- Must be able to lift and move chairs and tables for event setups.
- Good visual and hearing acuity required. Talking and listening skills are required. Must have excellent driving skills and the ability to handle vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads and in inclement weather.
