Director of Supply Chain
Location: The Marwin Company (Onsite – No Travel Required)
The Marwin Company is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to lead our procurement, shipping, and inventory management operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain processes, from sourcing materials to delivering finished products.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing/procurement strategy. Deliver cost-effective and timely material sourcing by interpreting industry trends, negotiating contracts and building strong vendor relationships. Identify and mitigate all associated risks.
- Manage shipping and logistics to maintain smooth operations, OTIF, and optimize freight costs.
- Lead inventory management, ensure optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and improve inventory accuracy.
- Lead global sourcing efforts and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supply chain initiatives with business goals.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, mitigate risk, and improve supplier partnerships.
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential suppliers based on their quality management systems, capabilities, and past performance.
- Lead, develop and mentor a team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop key metrics and drive continuous improvement in procurement, inventory control, and shipping processes.
- Provide fact-based analysis to support targeted competitive market positioning and growth.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define and implement the new ERP system that supports and enhances supply chain processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, including 4 years in a leadership role with experience in the manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Skills: Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and process improvement abilities.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Problem-solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Proven track record of leading procurement transformations and implementing processes
- Expert knowledge of procurement best practices, processes, and technologies
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Deep understanding of procurement compliance and risk management
- The ability to work with a diverse and cross-functional team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
