The Baltimore City Senate Delegation is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented staff member to support the operations and workflow of the Delegation and its Chair. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in independent and collaborative environments, demonstrating strong organizational, communication, and research skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to actively engage with the legislative process, providing administrative, logistical, and research support to the Delegation, its members, and affiliated committees. The staff member will work closely with the Senate Chair’s Office staff, Delegation members, caucuses, and the Department of Legislative Services to ensure smooth operations and promote Delegation activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Document Management : Oversee the control, review, and preparation of information for Delegation members.
- Meeting Logistics : Coordinate meeting schedules and logistics, including developing Delegation calendars and preparing and disseminating agendas, notifications, and reading materials in advance.
- Event Facilitation : Manage and maintain in-person and virtual meetings, including webinars, ensuring technical and logistical readiness.
- Action Follow-Up : Anticipate and address outstanding agenda items, ensuring prompt and accurate follow-up with members.
- Administrative Support : Perform administrative duties such as handling mail and deliveries, managing office equipment, and overseeing minor office procurements.
- Member Support : Provide general support for Delegation members and their staff as needed.
- Other Duties : Undertake additional tasks to support the Delegation's work, as required.

Organizational Skills : Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Education : As a practice, we do not require any pre-requisite post-secondary degrees. Residency in or strong ties to Baltimore City or Baltimore Region are preferred.
