The Commission is pleased to inform employees of our upcoming, Trades Apprenticeship Program, which is part of our Career Development Program – designed for employees interested in a trades related career. The Apprenticeship program’s initial classes begin on July 15, 2025 for one employee – selected into the Plumbing Trade, out of our Randall Farm facility. This four-year program will prepare this employee to obtain a journey level license in the Plumbing trade.
The program’s eligibility requirements are:
Satisfactory completion of probation no later than April 1, 2025
Rating of 2 on most recent performance evaluation
No disciplinary actions in the last two years
Possess English language competency (able to read, write, and comprehend)
Possess High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
18 years of age and older
Current and valid driver’s license

The selected candidate will be interviewed and if chosen will be placed in the Trades Apprenticeship job classification, and receive on-the-job training at the Randall Farm facility, with a requirement to attend classes two nights a week. The Commission will pay the cost for all tuition and books. Upon completion of the program, employees will be required to remain employed with the Commission for a minimum of two years.

Supplemental Information
Driver's License Release Form, this position requires a current and valid driver's license. Employees who have a State of Maryland or District of Columbia License are to complete and submit their Driver's License Release form along with their application. Employees who have an "out of state" license do not need to complete the Driver's License Release Form but are required to reach out to their State's Motor Vehicle Department (online) to obtain a validation report (depending on the state, this is a 3-year driving history).
