What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Instructor position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
Develop and implement engaging art curriculum for students of diverse skill levels and age groups.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them refine their artistic techniques and enhance their creative expression.
Demonstrate various art techniques and mediums, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages experimentation and personal growth.
Plan and organize art projects, workshops, and exhibitions to showcase students’ work and promote their artistic development.
Stay updated on current art trends, techniques, and tools to enhance teaching methods and curriculum content.
Maintain a safe and clean art studio environment, ensuring the proper use and care of art supplies and equipment.
Collaborate with colleagues and parents to provide progress reports and address any concerns or questions.
Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Art Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an Art Instructor, Art Teacher, or similar role.
Strong artistic skills and expertise in various art forms and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
Ability to create a positive and inspiring learning atmosphere.
Knowledge of art history, theory, and appreciation.
Familiarity with different art materials, tools, and equipment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
