McCrillis Gardens, a 6-acre horticulture display garden located in Bethesda, MD seeks a part-time seasonal employee to assist with gardening tasks from March through November. The ideal candidate is energetic and enjoys being outside, interacting with people, and has an outstanding work ethic with great attention to detail. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of plants and experience using a variety of equipment for tasks like planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching. On the job training will also be provided as necessary.

- Assists Horticulture staff with all maintenance and planting tasks including bed preparation, mulching, and weeding.
Operates power equipment and small machinery.
Uses a variety of hand tools for landscape maintenance.
Interacts with visitors in a friendly and helpful manner.
Assists in the supervision of volunteer groups.
Working Conditions
Primarily works outside. Exposed to weather, dirt, waste, odors, pesticides, wildlife, and potentially harmful insects (for example, bees, hornets, wasps, etc.). Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Works independently and as part of a team.
