The Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation is currently seeking Help Desk Support staff to provide customer service through phone calls and emails for our internal and external customers.
Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills and are patient, detail-oriented self-starters with an upbeat phone manner and positive attitude. They show a comfort with technology, and effective task-management skills with the ability to balance multiple assignments at a time. Must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment. Typing speed over 40 WPM and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite recommended. On the job training is provided.
This position pays at a rate from $16.25 per hour to $22.10 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
This is a part-time position working 32 hours a week onsite at the Call Center. Required occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends shifts. Opportunities for advancement available.
- Gather information and respond to emails and calls regarding general knowledge of Parks services and programs.
- Provide troubleshooting support to end user and clients.
- Recording and tracking incident reports through ticketing software.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's licenses must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required of their position.
A criminal background investigation will be completed prior to hire.
May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
