What are the responsibilities and job description for the Historic Preservation Assistant position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
Participate in assessing building and site maintenance and CIP (Capital Improvement Projects) needs.
Observe, participate in and gather experience in historic & contemporary construction, methods & techniques.
Participate in project planning, prioritization and developing scopes of work.
Assist in construction administration including RFIs, Submittals and Site Observations
Assist in developing a usable database for historic site inventories, documents, photographs, etc.
Develop and demonstrate enhanced communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Develop professional leadership and confidence in planning, architectural building designs and facility maintenance and historic infrastructure.
Enrollment in a baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
General knowledge of architecture, history, and computer-based programs.
Ability to organize work efficiently and effectively.
Ability to solve complex problems involving many variables.
Ability to work with confidential documents and data while ensuring confidentiality.
Ability to work independently.
Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Strong communication skills, superb written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license
Proficient in MS Office, collecting and reporting data, preparing presentations, researching, document control and performing other computer functions for data management and retrieval

Salary : $17 - $20
