What are the responsibilities and job description for the Little Bennet Campground Positions - Seasonal position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
Assist with camper activities and amenities such as pedal karts, jumping pillow, movie nights, laser tag, arts and crafts, leading nature hikes and organizing special events. Activity set up and clean up. Work closely with campers to provide excellent customer service.
Attendants are responsible for the collection of rental fees to reserve campsites Creating permits Selling merchandise from the camp store, handling cash and point of sale transactions Serving as the Campground’s first point-of-contact for customer questions and/or concerns and assisting with store inventory and Campground activity programs, when needed. Attendants must be comfortable performing basic computer functions (e.g., data entry capabilities), have a pleasant demeanor, and be knowledgeable of Campground programs, fees, and policies. Excellent customer service skills needed to assist customers in person and over the phone. Must be able to multitask in a high-volume environment. Other duties may include opening and closing facility, emailing customer permits and follow up correspondence.
Responsible for maintenance of approximately 91 wooded campsites, 3 bath houses, 3 Yurts, 3 Cabins, a Camp Store and Campground booth. Removing ashes from fire pits, trash removal, sweeping and mopping facility floors, cleaning bath houses, cabins and yurts, setting up and cleaning camper ready tents, collecting recycling, light landscaping and transporting firewood. Attendants will report building/Campground issues to Facility Manager and keep accurate inventory of janitorial supplies and equipment.
Minimum age of 16 (work permit is required). Experience working with children preferred. Work weekends required.
Minimum age of 18. Varied hours from weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Knowledge of fundamental computer skills required. • Cash handling experience preferred.
Minimum age of 18. Previous housekeeping and landscaping experience preferred. Part-time weekday and weekend work required.
