For Group Fitness Instructors: Work schedule may include a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends. Qualified instructors will lead instruction for line dancing, Zumba®, cross training, sculpt & tone, various boot camps, family fitness, Tai Chi /Yoga classes, senior fitness and cycling classes. Facility is open to innovative programming ideas.
For Personal Trainers: Work schedule will be determined by the demand of personal training and fitness assessments. Qualified trainers will work with a diverse type of clientele including seniors, athletes, teens, and adult populations.
- Enforces all rules and regulations as they relate to fitness and class safety.
- Completes daily duties, including wiping down of equipment used for classes
- Attends meetings, and all other required training.
- Secures a substitute for any scheduled hours/shifts that cannot be worked.
- Maintains required certification(s).
- Promotes Fitness Center programming and performs other related work duties and/or special projects as assigned.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well with the public and other staff.
- Communicates instructions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
- Ability to establish a positive rapport by using tact and discretion with participants, parents, and staff.
- Must display a high degree of emotional maturity while keeping difficult situations in proper perspective.
- Deals effectively with the public.
- Must be able to process information accurately.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid certification in their discipline. Must also possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification.

Must commit to working for the Department of Parks and Recreation at one of the hiring facilities for a one (1) year timeframe.These positions are Seasonal/part-time and do not include a benefit package.
Must successfully pass a complete background investigation prior to hire.
May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
