What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Coordinator position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
The Activation Team is seeking a Site Coordinator to provide onsite event coordination of the Parks Playhouse Jr. Summer event series. The series runs from late June through mid-August and features kids’ performers and entertainers. Additional opportunities include providing on-site event support at on-site special events and programs including concerts, festivals, races, community events, fun runs and walks, art performances, and other programming throughout the year. We are seeking candidates that are enthusiastic about events and outdoor programs to join our team.

Coordinates the onsite implementation of special events and community events including the Parks Playhouse Jr. Series (late June-mid-August)
Provides leadership and supervision at events and programs
Directs operations at events including performers, staff, and volunteers
Monitors event attendees and serves as onsite representative
Provides support to activation team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience facilitating special events and programs
Experience with special events equipment
Enthusiasm for and knowledge of special events
Bilingual/Multilingual a plus
Previous customer service experience.

Must possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
$17.00 to $26.01 per hour; 20- 30 hours/week. The position requires weekend and evening availability according to the event schedule.
Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for at least two hours at a time.
Ability to walk at least half a mile and up and down moderate hills without difficulty.
Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold.
May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
