What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skating Director – Seasonal position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
The schedule will be days, evenings and weekends.
The salary range will be $16.00/hour - $26.00/hour dependent on experience, qualifications, and certifications.
- Working conditions work is performed at a recreational ice facility and may be both indoors and outdoors. Some work may be done in an office environment using standard office equipment. Position may require off-site promotion;
- Physical requirements must be able to stand and skate for long periods of time. This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling;
- Minimum of five (5) years overseeing a skating program with a full slate of developmental learn to skate, learn to play and on ice skating programs from tots to adults, beginners to advanced, recreational to competitive;
- Experience with Industry and instructional hockey and figure skating programs preferred.
- Knowledge of USFS, ISI and USA Hockey programs along with memberships, credentials, and certifications preferred;
- Ability to obtain certifications from USFS, ISI and USA hockey;
- Able to network and form strong and lasting relationships within the facility, community, and industry;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel;
- Dedication to achieve results with a focus on planning and execution; dedication to success and commitment to work a flexible schedule to achieve facility and departmental goals;
