Job Duties & Accountabilities:
Typical Duties of a Manager in Training, Production Operations include:
- Assist in the implementation and management of SOPs including, but not limited to, feeding strategies, animal movement and care, proper ventilation practices and the use of pharmaceutical (medication) and biological products (vaccines) in a BTW or WTM setting.
- BTW MIT:
- Assist the Farm Manager with local human resource management for employees including safety promotion, recruitment, creating work schedules and reporting hours, administering discipline, performing terminations and accurate recordkeeping.
- Oversee daily production activities including time management, consulting with Team Leads and team members on goal setting and prioritization of activities, coordination of animal movements, feed and supply deliveries, monitoring of animal health and assisting with daily animal care.
- WTM MIT:
- Assist the Production Manager with Production Partner Field Service Reports, production expectations, relationship management, and animal health initiatives.
- Train, teach and coach Production Partners to adopt practices and behaviors that drive production performance.
- Perform timely duties and comply with bio-security practices and reporting violations of these practices.
- Maintain accurate production records and recommend improvements as needed.
- Promote the development of employees’ or Production Partners’ production, leadership and organizational skills.
- Gain understanding of maintenance and repair needs for buildings and equipment as well as housekeeping responsibilities of the barn facilities including trash removal and maintaining overall facility cleanliness.
- Learn and understand how to implement best management practices for environmental stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications Education:
High School diploma or GED
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelors of Science in Agriculture or a related field preferred
Experience: 2 years - Two years of experience in modern swine production or related experience, with one year of supervisory experience preferred. Bachelors degree may be substituted for work experience.

Compensation:
Targeted pay range of $21.00 - $28.00 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
