Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining manufacturing processes to support the team with machining / assembly of a wide variety of components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Program CNC machining centers including turning, milling, grinding, and gear shaping.
To ensure the manufacturing process is current; review and develop methods to optimize production.
Analyze costs to meet manufacturing budgets.
Provide assistance with researching, preparing, and presenting cost / benefit analysis of capital equipment.
Select and specify tooling packages for all machine shop operations.
Work closely with department peers to review new product concepts and designs for manufacturability.
Troubleshoot production floor issues.
Provide technical support to outside machining and assembly suppliers as required.
Be aware of current and emerging technologies and manufacturing practices to increase company efficiencies.
This position will require daily interaction with other departments and outside suppliers in support of operations.
Requirements
Experience in a production manufacturing environment.
Designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling
Developing CNC programs
Working knowledge of Solidworks / 3D CAD software
Mastercam or other CAM software.
Understand Microsoft Office Suite to create documentation, spreadsheets, and databases to support manufacturing operations.
Familiarity with developing machining processes for aluminum and ductile castings and a variety of alloy steels.
Working knowledge of inspection gages, CMM’s, and inspection methodologies.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, heat treating, welding, and machine operation.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and SPC concepts.
Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
Proven professional qualities including strong initiative, integrity, and the desire / ability to work in a team environment.
