The Math Agency's mission is to close educational gaps in public schools. Over the last several years, we’ve shown it is possible to double how quickly students learn, even in some of the most disadvantaged schools in the state of Washington. Our partner schools have become some of the highest performing schools in the entire state in terms of math growth as measured via state standardized tests.
Role Description
This part-time role (3–6 hours per week) is for an academic coach/tutor. You will work with a small group of 4–5 students in grades 3 through 5. With the support of high-quality digital learning tools, your primary goal will be to keep students engaged and excited about learning. You'll also be responsible for keeping notes of your coaching sessions, tracking data on student learning, and providing written updates for their families.
We have coaching sessions available between 12:45pm and 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children (elementary school age)
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn new technologies
- Previous tutoring or mentoring experience is a plus
- A background check is required
