We are seeking a contract Esthetician to join our new luxury life plan community in Tysons!
Purpose:
An Esthetician will be expected to work with residents and guests to ensure satisfaction. The Esthetician administers professional facials, waxing services and select body treatments to our residents and guests. They must possess a thorough knowledge of the skin, have excellent facial massage and skin extraction techniques, possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific facial treatment offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of residents and guests. They must hold and maintain a current state license.
Essential Functions:
- Ascertain precautions/contraindications for each spa guest and associated scheduled treatment(s) prior to treatment commencement.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy; reports any unusual resident interactions to management.
- Provide consistent professional facial and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
- Perform consecutive spa treatments, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
- Properly care for professional spa equipment and use proper amounts of product per treatment protocols.
- Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training spa guests in these areas.
- Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
- Promote wellness retail programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals.
- Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
- Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required.
- Escort residents and guests throughout spa and salon
- Handle resident and guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Possess ability to work without direct supervision.
- Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
- Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
- Responsible for renewing therapist license as dictated by county/city/state regulation.
Secondary Functions:
- Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others. Communicates with key staff, residents and or residents’ families in a timely manner.
- Supports elements of employee wellness opportunities as requested.
- Complies with Mather Code of Conduct, Policies, Compliance Program, and all applicable laws and regulations in performance of one’s job duties; reports all known and suspected violations to his/her supervisor or manager, Mather Compliance officer, a Human Resources representative, or the confidential employee helpline.
- Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the company Mission, Core Values, and EMI philosophy.
- Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements. Ensures Mather consent protocols are followed across continuum for resident content.

Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold and maintain a current State of Virginia Esthetics license.
- Ability to use or learn a variety of tech-based services and platforms, i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, resident facing portals, and spa specific appointment/ booking software.
- Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
- Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.
- Must be a team player.
- Exercise dependability and willingness to work with schedule flexibility.
