POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a contract nail technician to join our new luxury life plan community! The Nail Technician provides a variety of high-quality manicures, pedicures, nail, hand and foot treatments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides high-quality manicures and pedicures, which includes removing old nail polish from fingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying new polish based on clients’ preferences om accordance with salon and spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
- Evaluates the condition of clients’ nails and advises them on proper nail care and treatments.
- Provides nail restoration and hand and footcare treatments. Recommend various nail styling techniques.
- Sanitizes all nail instruments and equipment before each use.
- Ensures that workstations are kept sanitary, clean and orderly.
- Ensures that nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked.
- Ascertain precautions/contraindications for each client and associated scheduled service(s)/ treatment(s) prior to commencement.
- Maintain confidentiality about guest information and maintain guest privacy. Report any unusual client interactions to manager.
- Perform consecutive salon treatments, prompt with each appointment, and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
- Properly care for professional salon equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
- Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training salon guests in these areas.
- Actively promote the spa & salon, treatments, services, sessions, and retail, in addition to programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
- Promote salon and wellness retail programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals.
- Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
- Perform prep work and properly clean and restock station(s) and salon areas as required.
- Escort residents and guests throughout salon and spa.
- Handle resident and guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Possess ability to work without direct supervision.
- Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
- Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
- Responsible for renewing therapist license as dictated by county/city/state regulation
Secondary Functions
- Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others. Communicates with key staff, residents and or residents’ families in a timely manner.
- Supports elements of employee wellness opportunities as requested.
- Complies with Mather Code of Conduct, Policies, Compliance Program, and all applicable laws and regulations in performance of one’s job duties; reports all known and suspected violations to his/her supervisor or manager, Mather Compliance officer, a Human Resources representative, or the confidential employee helpline.
- Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the company Mission, Core Values, and EMI philosophy.
- Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements. Ensures Mather consistent protocols are followed across continuum for resident content.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold and maintain a current State Nail Technician and or Cosmetology license
- Ability to use or learn a variety of tech-based services and platforms, i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, resident facing portals, and spa specific appointment/ booking software
Preferred:
- Experience working with older adults
