What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Associate DCD position at The McAlear Group?
This position is an hourly position in the manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the production, assembly, and preparation of drain cables for required tolerances and specifications as directed by customer orders.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows all established safety rules regarding plant operations.
- Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions, safety rules/regulations.
- Sufficient visual acuity (corrective) to read instructions, establish and understand part numbers, and visually inspect products produced.
- Setup jobs according to specifications of work order.
- Produce required quantity and quality cables.
- Responsible for routine maintenance in the area and keeping work are in clean and neat condition.
- Thrives in a team environment.
- Punctuality and regular attendance required.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May be assigned additional duties and responsibilities that are not outlined above.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for 8 hours per day.
- Physical ability to do work that requires repetitive lifting/pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs routinely and 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work in a warehouse without heat and air conditioning.
COMPENTENCY, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to work in high pressure and challenging environment.
- Eagerness to share innovative ideas to improve current processes.
- Ability to learn to use tape measure, calipers, micrometers & propylene/acetylene cutting torches.
- Ability to operate computers in the manufacturing process.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train in other production and processing areas
- Ability to change focus frequently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, various other departments, and other production team members.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- High school graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED:
- Welding experience
- Mechanical and electrical background
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
