The McGillis School, a progressive K-8 independent school in Salt Lake City, seeks a vibrant, engaging, and collaborative leader as our next Director of Admissions, starting July 1, 2025. The new Director will develop and articulate a vision for all aspects of admissions and enrollment management within the ever-changing educational landscape in Salt Lake City. The Director of Admissions will partner with the Head of School and other senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure that the strategic direction and vision of the school is reflected and supported in the outreach, recruitment, admissions, retention, and enrollment processes.
The Director of Admissions is a prominent face for our community and a trusted resource for families seeking education and access at McGillis. A master communicator and natural storyteller, this individual will skillfully promote and reinforce the unique qualities of the McGillis community.
The Director of Admissions will supervise a new full-time Admissions Manager role and will collaborate closely as a two-person Admissions Team on all duties related to the admissions and enrollment pipeline. The Director will also work side by side with the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Director of Philanthropy as a leader of McGillis’ six-person Advancement Team, ensuring schedule coordination and event support for all Advancement-related activities.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience in enrollment management, admissions, and/or marketing within independent schools is ideal.
- Preferred background in teaching, education, and/or non-profit organizations.
- Preferred history of leading people and/or projects with demonstrable benefit to previous organizations.
- Demonstrated management ability, interpersonal skills, and strong leadership.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and strategic planning; experience utilizing enrollment management systems, preferably Veracross, is ideal.
- Strategic planning experience, including enrollment management modeling.
- Commitment to the mission and values of The McGillis School.
- Cultural competency and ability to engage with diverse populations; high level of integrity and professionalism.
- A positive attitude, growth mindset, and a high degree of professional confidence.
