Technology Integration and Support Specialist
The McGillis School, an established, independent K-8 school in Salt Lake City, Utah has an opening for a full-time, non-teaching, year-round Technology Integration and Support Specialist.

The Technology Integration and Support Specialist ensures that the School’s technology platforms and infrastructure are reliable, manageable, and effective for educational and administrative needs. This position reports to the Director of Operations and routinely collaborates with the leadership team, school personnel, students, and parents to plan, implement, and support the School’s technology needs.
The successful candidate will possess keen problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively and independently, strong organizational and communication skills, and a professional presence.
Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain systems
- Configure, deploy, manage, and support a variety of end-user hardware and software, including MacOS, iOS, ChromeOS, Apple devices, and Chromebooks
- Address technical issues and requests courteously, promptly, and efficiently for faculty, staff, students, parents, and guests
- Educate/train users by guiding and empowering them to solve problems independently while also supporting their growth
- Provide in-classroom support of devices, applications, and educational technologies
- Develop internal technical and end-user documentation
- Monitor and report inappropriate user account activity on the School’s network, systems, or equipment
- Provide AV support as necessary for presentations and events
- Maintain hardware inventory and evaluate software and hardware replacement needs
- Evaluate new software, applications, and hardware interoperability with school infrastructure
- Ensure network usability and security; execute network projects involving installation, repairs, upgrades, and replacement of infrastructure devices in coordination with a third-party engineer
- Make recommendations to leadership regarding purchasing and technology project plans as needed
- Participate in duties as assigned, attend meetings to contribute positively to the overall school community
- Participate in continued technical professional development
Qualifications
- 3 years of working experience in an educational technology related field
- Bachelor's degree in an educational or technology related field preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong ability and motivation to recognize, identify, diagnose, and resolve a wide range of complex software and hardware problems
- Broad experience with Apple products and recent experience managing MacOS, iOS and tvOS devices
- Ability to assess, implement, and maintain effective network and data security
- Experience supporting firewall devices, network, WiFi, VPN, device management
- Customer service mindset, comfortable assisting others, has an easy-to-understand manner when working with all users
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well and independently in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
- Experience with administration of G-Suite
- Experience with and knowledge of Learning Management Systems and educational apps and software platforms
