Job Overview
The Meadowbrook School of Weston seeks a seasoned Controller to lead our Business Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school's financial records with accuracy.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial management principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the ability to implement new accounting systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in non-profit accounting and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for all accounting and financial functions, promoting a service-oriented environment, providing training, direction, motivation, and opportunities for skills development
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting procedures and standards in accordance with GAAP and FASB
- Coordinate the annual financial and 403(b) audits, preparation of reports and reconciliations, drafting financial statements, and assisting auditors as needed
- Supervise and assist Staff Accountant with student billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and purchasing as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA license and/or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated track record of progressive responsibility including supervising a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
