- Knowledge of routes and pick-up locations.
- Skilled with operating manuals and work orders.
- Ability to establish a rapport with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to prioritizing workloads and monitor equipment and vehicles.
- Ability to operate a compactor and forklift.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs alone and 80 lbs with help.
This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining the university’s waste management program by servicing litter control barrels that are located throughout the university grounds.
Job Duties
- Run recycling routes.
- Pick up of recyclable material on campus including emergency pick-ups.
- Processing of recyclable material collected on campus.
- Work special events.
- Train student/temporary employees on recycling routes and use of equipment.
- Track labor log hours for self and crew.
- Ensures work time is recorded on proper job codes.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles that are used on a daily basis.
- Ensure attendance of all required University training.
- Support and assist recycling and waste management coordinator in program operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position requires driving University vehicles.
