Position Overview: The Optometrist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases. The ideal candidate will be committed to patient-centered care and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients from varied backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests.
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, and therapies as needed.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and proper use of eyewear.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
- Stay current with advancements in optometry and healthcare practices.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure to practice optometry.
- Experience in a community health or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing quality care to underserved populations.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
- License: Optometry license
