Medical Biller/AR Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Medical Biller/AR Specialist at The MedServ Group, you will be responsible for the accounts receivable functions of the skilled nursing facility and assisted living facility entities of the organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely cash collection goals while minimizing outstanding receivables. You will work closely with our billing department, insurance companies, and doctors/nurses to facilitate efficient billing and initiate collection protocols.
Medical Biller/AR Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for the Medical Billing Accounts Receivables
- Review and verify patient information, medical records, and insurance details
- Communicate with doctors, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any coding or billing issues.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Execute other duties as may be assigned.
Medical Biller/AR Specialist Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience as Medical Biller or similar role.
- Previous accounts receivable experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care facility setting preferred.
· Knowledgeable in medical coding systems (ICD-10).
· Familiarity with medical procedures and terminology.
· Knowledge of insurance reimbursement processes and guidelines
- Strong attention to detail, positive attitude, and a proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Monday.com, Advanced MD, Clearinghouses such as Trizetto and Change Healthcare (preferred)
· Knowledge of state regulations.
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Schedule: 9:00AM-5:00PM (Monday-Friday).
- Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 annually plus medical benefits.
- Location: 260 Christopher Ln Suite 102A, Staten Island, NY 10314
- Remote or Hybrid options available.
