SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to lead, direct and train milling staff to achieve maximum milling efficiencies with the highest wheat yields. This position will sustain the food safety policy, mission, purpose and quality statements of the Mennel Milling Company.
PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Monday through Friday 7AM – 4PM. Will vary, depending on workload.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
- Uses the Corporate Mission, Quality, and Safety Statements as guiding principles in the decision-making process.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing facility.
- Responsible for the selection and training of the mill staff.
- Lead mill staff in all areas of personnel safety with regards to all OSHA, NFPA and all safety training guidelines set forth as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental programs.
- Maintain equipment inventories to properly maintain milling equipment for preventive maintenance programs.
- Responsible for becoming a member of the Food Safety Team
- Maintain a master sanitation schedule and SOP’s regarding milling operations
- Maintain wheat and flour inventories to produce correct specifications
- Maintain equipment inventories to product correct specifications
- Communicates well with all levels of the organization, and actively engages others in problem solving.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overseeing all milling operations
QUALIFICATIONS:

- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- A 4-year college degree in Milling Science or related food manufacturing or operations field preferred
- 15 years of progressive supervisory experience in the flour milling industry, or in another food manufacturing field is preferred.

- Excellent technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write reports, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.

The noise level in the work environment usually requires the use of hearing protection.
