Summary
The Resident Advisor is responsible for providing oversight for clients in residential and day treatment settings as well as assisting clients to improve functioning in academic, work, living, social, and leisure environments through reinforcement of skill and resource development.
Key Functions
Promotes and maintains a safe environment conducive to recovery.
- Reports client safety concerns to Program Leadership.
- Maintains compliance with all established program policies, processes, and procedures.
- Conducts situation monitoring in assigned settings to provide a continually safe environment.
- Follows established program guidelines for intervening and supporting residents who are in distress while under their supervision.
- Assists in monitoring sobriety and helping ensure the absence of all illicit drugs and alcohol in the residency setting.
Provides support in activities of daily living consistent with the client’s recovery plan.
Facilitates the development of appropriate behaviors, self-expression, and social interaction.
Assists in the provision and / or reinforcement of vocational, educational, social, and recreational rehabilitative experiences for residents.
Maintains a physical and psychological environment that facilitates the improved functioning of residents.
Provides input to the Program Staff and participate in other educational and clinical committee work as assigned; contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Education Required : High School Diploma
Education Required : Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related field.
License / Certification : License to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas.
Experience : Prior experience in a mental health setting is desired.
