Job Description:
Responsible for securing insurance benefit information, and authorizations and maintaining ongoing benefit changes. Required to meet with patients face to face or over the phone to resolve outstanding payment, and insurance issues, assist with Medicaid benefits application completion and maintenance, conduct DHHS interviews, outreach under-insured individuals, and complete financial assessments. Coordinates with local DHHS office and state Eligibility Coordinators on the status of cases to meet the needs of our community. Must have excellent communication skills, and data entry proficiency. Understanding of insurance and billing needed, prior customer service experience a plus. Computer experience, telephone skills, ability to work independently, attention to detail, and confidentiality are a must. The position requires a High School diploma and two years’ experience.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Verifying benefits, obtaining authorizations, and entering insurance information accurately for the individuals and families we serve at multiple locations.
- Communicate financial responsibility to individuals and their families.
- Providing information on or assisting with the completion of NH Easy Medicaid application and, or financial assessment
- Resolving coordination of benefit-related issues impacting timely reimbursement
Requirements
Requirements:
- One year’s experience working in a medical office, preferably behavioral health, obtaining insurance information, benefits, and authorizations.
- Providing excellent customer service and education to individuals regarding their financial responsibility under their insurance
- Assisting with the resolution of insurance-related concerns or denial
Education: High School Diploma
