Job Description:
The Facilities Service Worker position is responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance with the ability to perform multi-craft functions, which may include non-technical electrical, plumbing, grounds, carpentry, locksmith, custodial, and painting. The Facilities Service Worker position will assist with all functions and employees of the facilities department.
?Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall safety of buildings and materials inside and outside of Center owned/occupied facilities. This includes, but is not limited to carpentry, electrical plumbing, mechanical, and hazardous materials.
- Maintain properties, workplaces, and treatment facilities to the highest standards for cleanliness and safety for clients, staff, and guests
- Maintaining inventory of parts and supplies, reordering when necessary.
- Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Perform Preventive Maintenance plan to keep exterior/interior of facilities up to standard.?
- Monitor parking lots and dumpsters for debris, trash, unauthorized vehicles, and crime. Contact proper authorities when issues arise.?
- Respond to emergency situations, be part of the on-call rotation, and work with other technicians and staff on special projects.
- Perform additional miscellaneous tasks or special projects as assigned by the Director such as, but not limited to; cleaning, sanding, finishing, and waxing of different floor materials or pressure washing the exterior of buildings, walkways, garbage removal, clean outs, delivering, disinfecting, etc.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess basic skills in painting and sheetrock; carpentry and maintenance; hazardous materials; and electrical, plumbing, and HVAC?
- Must possess both a positive and proactive mindset and attitude
- Must work well and collaboratively with others and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
- Strong ability to problem-solve and communicate effectively (written and verbal)
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Flexibility (frequent interruptions and schedule changes)
- Attend to any urgent safety situations while awaiting further responses, including freeing and clearing access to exit areas of all buildings.
- Strong time management skills.
- Requires the ability to frequently perform the following functions: standing, walking, lifting, carrying 5-50 lbs, pushing 50 lbs, pulling 50 lbs, climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching, bending, squatting, frequent driving
Education:?A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- 1 years’ experience in the Facilities Maintenance/Carpentry field is required
- Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Qualifications:?Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
