About the Role:
We are seeking an Assistant Pool Manager to oversee and supervise this aquatics facility and enhance the members’ experience with daily aquatic related activities including lap swim, aquatic fitness and daily family swim and events. We would like to make coming to the pool an experience for each member that rivals the finest of resort pools. Responsibilities:
- Managing daily operations of the pool facility
- Training and supervising qualified lifeguard staff to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for members and guests
- Providing exceptional customer service to members and guests
- Providing leadership to all Aquatics staff
- Act as an emergency responder during an incident
- Plan and run monthly in-service training with the Aquatics and Wellness Manager
- Meet monthly with the Pool Committee to relay information, discuss procedural updates, plan and organize events, etc.
- Executing club events at the pool with the Aquatics and Wellness Manager
- Monitoring and billing for lap lane reservations, guest passes, nanny waivers, pool events, etc.
- Create SOPs for pool operations
- Creating content for social media and monthly chronicle newsletter
- Coordinate summer camp pool use with Director of Junior Programming and the Aquatics and Wellness Manager
- Overseeing Aquatics staff schedules and covering shifts, as needed
- Supervising and supporting swim lesson students and instructors during class time
- Conduct high-quality swim lessons, prioritizing expertise and safety
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring chemical levels are compliant with PA Health and Safety guidelines
- Maintaining cleanliness of the pool deck
- Identifying, communicating, and resolving maintenance issues at the pool with the Aquatics and Wellness Manager
- Attend and participate in programming and management meetings
- Auditing incident reports monthly to ensure they are properly documented and reported
- Planning, organizing, and supporting Food and Beverage staff during events and daily operations
- Addressing and resolving all member concerns
- Conducting an end of season inspection of the facility to identify improvements needed in the off season
Reports to:
- The Aquatics and Wellness Manager
Candidate Qualifications:
- Two years (2) experience in managing a pool or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Current Lifeguard certification is a requirement.
- Must possess CPR, ADP, and First Aid certification / training.
- Must be familiar with Federal and State requirements and guidelines pertaining to pool management.
- Highly skilled swimmer and excellent communication skills
- Hourly Non-exempt/Seasonal Position
The pool opens April 1st and closes October 31st. The Assistant Pool Manager must be available afternoons and weekends beginning mid-April to prepare the operation for the season and as required in October to winterize.
