What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead - Injection 2nd shift position at THE METAL WARE CORPORATION?
The Metal Ware Corporation is a privately owned company located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Metal Ware has been manufacturing consumer products for over 100 years. You may know us best through our brands such as NESCO, Chard, and Grizzly. We make many of our products here in our Two Rivers plant using injection molding, metal stamping and rotational molding equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day department operations, which includes but is not limited to the following:
- Uphold a culture of working safely and following safety protocol. Complete safety incident forms when needed.
- Assist in establishing staffing levels.
- Monitor staff to follow all company policies.
- Investigate and communicate personnel issues with leadership/or HR
- Attend the production meeting to assign daily job duties and assignments. Identify what machines are running, qty of people on machine, change overs, scrap, etc.
- Set expectations for staff and monitor output against department efficiency goals.
- Monitor and make corrective actions to improve quality issues.
- Maintain 100% accuracy on data entry associated with shift reports, inventory and labor transactions in sage, maintain startup/shutdown inventory sheet and all other data entry.
- Monitor material usage and investigate negative variances.
- Communicate with planning to meet customer ship dates.
- Monitor tool usage to identify trends and potential issues to reduce costs.
- Instruct and train operators assigned to operate equipment and periodically check operating procedures to assure proper machine operations, safety, and quality of products and assemblies.
- Empower employees to independently solve problems, keep production running, and continually learn different jobs and tasks to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
- Print the appropriate labels for production
- Assist supervisor or manager with PTO requests and attendance.
- Promote company core values.
