As a Product Category Manager, you will lead the development and execution of dynamic short- and long-term strategies, ensuring category expansion, competitive positioning, and sustained business impact. This role is at the forefront of shaping product direction, maximizing value, and creating growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Identify long-term product opportunities and develop comprehensive strategic roadmaps to guide product evolution, focusing on market needs and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct detailed market research to identify customer needs, market gaps, and trends, and stay informed on competitive offerings and industry shifts to position products effectively.
- Manage the product life cycle of assigned categories to oversee the product through its entire lifespan, from conception and eventual phase out, using a systematic approach to optimize success at each stage.
- Execute projects as assigned through the stage gate product development process and strategy.
- Establish, implement, and manage clear timelines, milestones, and objectives for each product development cycle, tracking and communicating progress to all stakeholders.
- P&L responsibility for current and new product opportunities.
- Oversee item setup, including item numbers, UPC/SCC assignment, and Harmonized Trade Code classification, maintaining accuracy in product specifications and updates.
- Collaborate with our foreign import team. Manage quotes, pricing negotiation, and communication with factories, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with product requirements.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to guide packaging content and design during the post-commercialization phase, ensuring consistency with brand messaging.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field or work experience.
- Experience in new product development and phase gate process.
- Solid background in providing support to all levels of Management.
- Data-driven and have prior analytical experience.
- Strong understanding and utilization of confidentiality.
- Prior experience preferred in consumer appliance products.
- Prior experience preferred in B2B product management.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting or exceeding deadlines.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
