MWG is looking to add a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to our Fairfield location!
JOB SUMMARY: Pulls orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment and verifies and enters receipt of incoming shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains merchandise from warehouse shelves to fill orders for non-stock items or special orders, carefully verifying identifying information and quantities.
- Places items in containers and wraps so that the invoice is visible.
- Receives "wrap and pack" orders as follows:
- Writes the company invoice number on the box.
- Compares identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order, counts items for verification, and indicates any discrepancies.
- Enters the purchase order by computer, which generates a shipping ticket.
- Indicates sales order number on the shipping ticket and attaches it to the box or sack.
- Enters other incoming shipments in the computer, as physical counts have already been verified.
- Handles return shipments to manufacturer for repairs.
- Assists in warehouse maintenance.
- Packages orders for out-of-town shipments.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
- General knowledge of warehouse procedures
- Experience utilizing a forklift
- Ability to understand written instructions
- Licensures and Certifications: None
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
