Location: Petersburg, VA 23803; Hybrid (On-Site 2-3 Days/Week)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist to join our team for a modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming, loading, and validating data for the new data warehouse while collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform and load data into the data warehouse to meet modernization requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for ETL development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
- Analyze and cleanse legacy data, applying data quality and business rules.
- Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to design data migration solutions.
- Develop and execute migration processes, test plans, and scripts for successful implementation.
- Create and maintain documentation for the migration process and post-implementation support.
- Monitor migration progress and build dashboards to support audits and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards.
- Represent the IT and data migration initiative in meetings with internal and external partners.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 6 years of experience in data extraction, transformation, and ELT/ETL processes.
- 7 years of strong SQL querying and scripting expertise.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design principles.
- In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and practices.
- Proven experience with large-scale enterprise data migration.
- Knowledge of data synchronization and replication techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
