Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Director to join our team at The Methodist Home for Children and Youth. This pivotal role, located in our organization, will contribute significantly to the development and management of programs that support youth and their families, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services aligned with our mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all aspects of program practices and services provided adhere to all current contracts and state and federal polices set forth
  • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, orientation, termination, and addressing assigned employee performance issues in accordance with Agency policy and procedures
  • Provide regular supervision to assigned programmatic staff including family coaches, behavior aides, and therapists
  • Review any billable service documentation as needed and within timeframes so as to allow compliance with service requirements
  • Manage, assign, and track all referrals for all contracted Delivered Services (Wrap Around, Homestead, PUP, Parent Aide, and Early Intervention) and Superior Court Visitation
  • Lead team meetings and provide leadership and support to staff members in order to enhance staff development
  • Provide and document direct services and on call as assigned and needed
  • Liaison between community and program partners to include Macon program, DFCS and DHS Contract Administration Unit
  • Communicate with Superior Court Personnel regarding referrals for Superior Court visitation program and coordinates with all parties involved to obtain admission paperwork
  • Testify in court regarding direct services provided or services provided by former staff
  • Ensure all documentation is obtained to complete for all monthly invoices to be submitted for all services by the 10th of each month
  • Work in partnerships with the Finance Department to reconcile payments, follow up on unpaid invoices, and resolve any billing issues
  • Complete administrative duties to include tasks such as monthly DHS Agency Roster, oversight of annual training requirements, monitoring of Service Authorizations, email notifications to DFCS, enter and maintain information in the electronic platforms
  • Represent the program at provider, state and national meetings, including System of Care Provider Meetings and others as needed
  • Willing to take on additional duties as assigned in a positive manner
  • Complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner

  • Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans

  • Employee practices social responsibility by ensuring that they are at their work area when scheduled and remain for duration of required hours in order to perform responsibilities
  • Openly communicates to establish and maintain effective working relationship with people at all levels
  • Utilizes appropriate Sanctuary tools when interacting with colleagues and clients
  • Adheres to the seven commitments of Sanctuary when carrying out work responsibilities

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess a current State of Georgia Professional Clinical License
  • Must possess a master's degree in social work, Psychology, or related field
  • Must have a minimum of three years casework experience
  • Three years of management/supervisory experience in a similar position/program preferred
  • Working understanding of DFCS and casework management a plus
  • Demonstrated supervisory and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, this includes meeting quality standards for services
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, Internet, E-mail, etc.
  • Working knowledge of family systems and family dynamics
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program personnel, clients and their families and the various collaterals and referral sources of the agency
  • Ability to relate to and supervise people
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical solutions to problems
  • Ability to meet and handle the public with tact and poise
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency
  • Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population
  • Ability to uphold the mission and values of The Methodist Home
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Responsibilities include a high tolerance for stress. Being able to accept constructive criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations
  • Necessary stamina and temperament to work with clients ranging in age from birth to adulthood, who are experiencing crisis and/or emotional and/or behavior disorders and/or medically fragile.
  • Responsibilities- include typing and sitting at a computer for both long and short durations of time as well as using peripheral devices such as a mouse and keyboard.
  • Ability to operate office equipment including copiers, peripheral devices, etc. Responsibilities include repetitive hand movements such as typing.
  • Responsibilities may include bending, stooping or kneeling for short durations of time.
  • Responsibilities include some travel and flexible schedule to include evening and weekend hours.
