Purpose: Purpose: The Director of Finance assists with oversight of The Methodist Home’s fiscal administration through preparation of financial statements enabling management to analyze information and maintain fiscal strength and integrity.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:·

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts and between development and finance records.

· Prepare reconciliations of bank accounts.

· Assists President and Vice President of Development in grant and foundation proposals and with the ongoing fiscal reporting of such grants and foundations.

· Assists with ongoing compliance of all organizational contracts.

· Completes annual cost reports consistent with state contract regulations.

· Cross trained in all finance functions to insure compliance and provide support when needed.

· Assist in the coordination and development of the annual budget.

· Assists with the management of inventory control, purchase orders, agency contracts and like matters (cash controls, asset management process, etc.)

· Recommends ways to adapt and streamline existing financial procedures and/or systems.

· Understands and manages all types of billing and payment processes.

· Ensures compliance, record keeping and reporting of the GA Tax Credit.

· Provides audit support both pre-work and onsite support as needed.

· Maintain monthly investment cost basis analysis.

· As needed travel to various locations for the purposes of providing support, training, etc.

· Participate in special projects and assignments as requested.

· Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans.

· Demonstrate and understand the sanctuary commitments.

·Demonstrate a commitment to democracy by actively participating in team decisions.

·Communicate openly to establish and maintain effective working relationship with people at all levels.

·Utilize appropriate Sanctuary tools when interacting with colleagues and residents.

·Adhere to the seven commitments of Sanctuary when carrying out work responsibilities.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· Must be 21 years of age or older.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 3 to 5 years’ experience preferred in professional accounting experience.

·Must have a valid Driver’s License with minimum of four-year driving history and the ability to meet and remain in good standing in accordance with Agency insurance guidelines.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel.

· Previous experience in nonprofit accounting preferred.

· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

· Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

· Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

·Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences in the service population

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
