Grant Writer
Job Summary:
The Methodist Home for Children and Youth, a private non-profit social services organization dedicated to restoring childhoods and strengthening families, is seeking a dedicated Grant Writer to join our team. As a Grant Writer, you will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our mission of providing healing and hope to children and families in need.This individual is primarily responsible for securing and completing grant funding to support The Methodist Home by way of individual relationships, corporations, and foundations. The major focus of this position is to support, enhance, and grow the organizations donor program by identifying, cultivating, and stewarding vital relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Research and identify grant funding opportunities
· Write and submit funding proposals
· Maintain appropriate records of grant gift in database
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
· Manage funding expenditures and ensure timely follow-up reporting to donors
· Collaborate with the CEO, CDO and other staff to understand funding needs throughout the organization
· Provide regular funding reports and updates
· Assist other Development team members as needed (mail processing, special events, proofreading)
· Other duties as assigned (to include filing all annual state registration renewals as well as managing volunteer groups such as the NOMAD’s)
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Three years of experience preferably in grant writing
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Successful experience in developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with minimum of four-year driving history and the ability to meet and remain in good standing in accordance with Agency insurance guidelines
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Receive satisfactory results for a pre-employment physical, ten panel drug screen and TB test.
- Duties are performed in a variety of environments ranging from highly stressful to casual and leisurely
- Duties may include some lifting moderately heavy materials
- Duties may include sitting and typing for both short and lengthy durations of time
- Duties include occasional travel
- Duties require extensive use of a computer
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
