Are you looking for a challenging role in automation and process control? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Water and Wastewater Automation Specialist to join our team at The Metropolitan District!

Job Summary: As a Water and Wastewater Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting automation and process control infrastructure for water and wastewater systems. This includes creating and reviewing engineering plans, monitoring and operating automation and process control systems, applying new technological systems, and developing innovative system solutions that meet operational and business requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing programming and configuration code for process control systems
  • Make changes to existing programs, review work performed by contractors, participate in factory witness testing, and coordinate control system issues
  • Assist in reviewing control logic strategies and implement programming changes to optimize control strategies for water/wastewater supply, distribution, treatment, and collection processes
  • Maintain security protocols, firewalls, and access for field and operator Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) access for field devices
  • Work collaboratively with District Engineering and Information Technology staff to support, maintain, and add to the District's Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and SCADA system
  • Respond to emergencies as directed. Serve on-call, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related field plus three years of related experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and installation of Process Control Systems (SCADA and DCS), configuration and programming of PLCs / RTUs, and HMIs
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Able to obtain a Control Systems Technician Certificate, Level I (CCST) within 24 months of placement

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, along with excellent benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
