About The Alexis Gregory Curatorial Practice Program Residency
This nine-month full-time residency provides advanced museum training that builds on the themes of the Curatorial Practice Program by engaging the CPP Resident in current projects within one of the museum’s curatorial departments. The Resident will participate in a range of activities over the nine-month period. Working closely with curators, conservators, scientific research and design, the Resident will receive mentoring from departmental and CPP leadership, have opportunities for curatorial writing and public speaking, and engage with urgent issues in curatorial practice. In addition to the opportunity to participate in the CPP Seminars, the Resident will be encouraged to lead discussion for one seminar session. The Resident will also be allotted time to work on independent scholarship.
The Resident will participate in the Museum’s Fellowship Program that brings together a community of scholars from diverse fields and different levels of professional advancement. Through a weekly program that includes informal conversations, gallery talks, and departmental visits, fellows meet with Museum curators, conservators, exhibition designers, educators, publishers, collections managers, members of the digital staff, and Museum leadership. Among the brightest minds and most interesting innovators working in museums today, these individuals contribute to an expansive understanding of museum work and offer fellows the chance to establish relationships with their current and future colleagues.
COMPENSATION RANGE:
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.

- Predoctoral Resident - $25.27 / Hourly
- Postdoctoral Resident - $67,000 / Annually
- The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
