GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

You are a key Audio Visual and Media Services (AVMS) team member responsible for technically managing hundreds of events annually. These events include lectures, talks, symposia, meetings, theatrical performances, and external rental events. You will plan and manage the implementation of the technical elements for events in partnership with Live Arts, Public Programs and Engagement, Teaching and Learning, and Special Events. You will oversee the daily operation of Union AV Specialist and Contract Labor to execute each event.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance as well as safeguard and supervise all AVMS equipment's technical inventory.

Lead productions of assigned events museum and oversee load-in, setup, rehearsal, show, strike, and load-out as assigned.

Assist with preliminary design plans and technical drawings for GRR productions (light plots, stage plots, PA setup, etc.)

Advise clients on their technical needs, including technical equipment, related to their events.

Oversee load-in, setup, rehearsal, show, strike, and load-out as assigned.

Manage and oversee a team of full-time and part-time AV Specialists (Local 306 Union), including, but not limited to, hiring, training, overseeing day-to-day activity, scheduling, and timekeeping.

Oversee AV specialists in the setup, operation, and use of sound, lights, video, and staging equipment for various events.

Make recommendations for GRR infrastructure modifications and upgrades.

Manage GRR calendar for (Artifax and Outlook) for all Museum Departments.

Maintain collaborative working relationships and coordinate resources, schedules, work orders, and production documents with colleagues in Front of House / Audience Services, Box Office, Custodial, Security, Programming, other departments, and vendors.

Maintain documentation for GRR inventory, infrastructure, and production software.

Create production advance documentation and subsequent reports for assigned events.

Manage the hiring, scheduling, and daily operations of AV Specialists and stakeholders.

Track and reconcile invoices for production-related expenses.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

5 years of experience working in technical theater or media services in a large performing arts organization, art museum, or gallery

Knowledge of contemporary and traditional event production and presentation techniques for theatre, dance, musicals, opera, concerts, films, and lectures

Ability and skill to exercise diplomacy in dealing with others and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

Ability to understand and communicate how more minor logistical details impact the big picture

Must have availability for frequent evening and weekend hours

Experience with Microsoft Office, group messaging apps, Adobe Suite, Qlab, Protools, AutoCAD, or other drafting software.

COMPENSATION RANGE :

Pay Range : $105,000.00 - $110,000.00 / Annually

Location Requirements

At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states : New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
