Horse/Equine Industry Jobs

We are currently looking to hire for a few positions in the Horse Racing Industry.

Farrier – Blacksmith for our live racing operations. This position is part-time, three (3) days per week, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The racing hours Blacksmith is required to be at the paddock from 11:30am until approximately 5pm. Pay is weekly – $200 per day

This position is vital to the well-being and performance of our equine athletes. We are looking for a skilled blacksmith who is knowledgeable of serving thoroughbred racehorses and the specialized care they need to compete safely in racing. This role requires a deep understanding of equine anatomy, biomechanics, and proper shoeing techniques.

Clocker This position is considered full-time and is six (6) mornings per week - Tuesday through Sunday. The Clocker’s day begins at 5:30am and ends around 10:30am. Pay is weekly - $22.15 per hour.

Clockers are responsible for observing horses on the track and timing them during morning workouts to obtain speed rating information.A Clocker must have good vision, knowledge of operating a stopwatch, and be able to identify specific pole markers on the track to accurately time the horses speed workout.

Racing Office Clerk This position is considered full-time. The work schedule is Thursday through Monday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Pay is weekly - $21.96 per hour.

This position interfaces with other personnel of the Racing Office and includes a wide range of tasks associated with the production of races. The position also involves working with horsemen, trainers, agents, jockeys, and MD Racing Commission agents, both on the phone and in person. Assist the Racing Secretary to canvass trainers for entering their horses in races. To be successful, the Racing Office Clerk must have industry knowledge and the required communication skills.
