VP of Asset Management (Multifamily)

The firm is a dynamic and growing private equity real estate firm that specializes in acquiring, and repositioning value-add multifamily properties in key markets within the Sunbelt and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The firm relies on proactive investment and asset management and has invested in $9 billion of multifamily assets over the past 20 years.

The Opportunity

The Vice President of Asset Management will assume a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for direct oversight of a selection of the firm's multifamily assets. This role involves strategic decision-making, hands-on asset management, and process optimization to ensure the achievement of investment goals and the continual growth of our assets under management.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Asset Management

·      Asset manage a portfolio of multifamily properties, providing direct oversight to third-party property

management firms and ensuring successful execution of property business plans, maximizing NOI, and

enhancing asset value.

·      Mitigate risks by identifying and addressing operational, financial, and market challenges.

·     Stay current with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technology, opportunities and risks to make

informed decisions.

·     Conduct site visits and market tours quarterly (or more frequently as needed) to verify property management

standards are being maintained and confirm market positioning.

·     Manage joint venture relationships.  

Market Expertise and Investment Strategy

·    Maintain a deep understanding of the Sunbelt and Mid-Atlantic multifamily markets, including demographic

trends, supply-demand dynamics, and competitive landscape.

·    Play an active role during the due diligence phase of acquisitions, evaluating property performance, risks, capital

plans, and potential value-add opportunities, as well as capabilities of potential joint venture partners and 3^rd

party property managers.

·   Collaborate with acquisition teams to provide asset management perspectives for informed investment decisions.

·    Provide strategic guidance on property dispositions, leveraging market insights and fund / investment objectives.

Qualifications

·    Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.

·    Minimum of 5 years of experience in multifamily real estate asset management

·    Minimum of 10 years of experience in multifamily property management or operations

·    Proven track record of successfully managing multifamily properties, optimizing NOI, and driving asset value.

·    Strong understanding of property management operations, financial analysis, and market dynamics.

·    Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

·    Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and interact with stakeholders.

·    In-depth knowledge of Sunbelt and Mid-Atlantic multifamily markets.

·    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant real estate software and tools (e.g., AIRM, Yardi, OneSite, RealPage BI/

PA Suite).

·    Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CFA) are a plus.
