What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Service Agent, EVENING position at The Millbrook Inn?
The Millbrook Inn is an upscale 9-bedroom luxury boutique hotel and restaurant in Millbrook, NY. We are looking for weekend coverage to run the front desk and take the innkeeper duties.
This shift is Monday-Thursdays, 4-11pm
This shift will handle check-in, guest services to help them with their evening activities, restaurant reservations, and any of their evening needs. Besides handling phones and front desk responsibilities, Also will help welcome guests arriving to dine at our award-winning restaurant, the Vintage, helping the restaurant when it’s extremely busy and they need a hand with checking guests in.
Will, from time to time, be asked to work a weekend or a morning shift, if a team member is sick on taking vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
answering our phones to take reservations for our luxury hotel and restaurant; preparing morning coffee station for guests; overseeing housekeeping and assigning the rooms to clean; welcoming and checking guests in and out; processing their payments on our reservation system; set up repairs with handyman or repair company if anything is broken on site (plumbing, air/heat, fireplace, etc). File bills and organize paperwork; greet guests and help with any questions they may have; this is a lovely part-time position for someone who has a passion for hospitality, Dutchess County, and people. Dressing professionally and keeping on-brand is a requirement.
The world of hospitality means no two days are exactly alike. Being able to think on your feet and problem-solve is a must!
Shift runs 7-8 hours a day, depending on when guests are expected to check in and check out. For instance, If there are guests, shift will end at 11PM; if not, your shift will end at 9PM.
Looking for someone who is presentable and willing to dress and present themselves in keeping with an upscale property; someone who loves people and generally likes hospitality and making people happy. This person must also be very detail oriented, a good listener, and a good independent worker. Must be adept at working on a computer, having to learn our reservation system to make deposits and other credit card charges.
Any sort of bartending or cocktail experience is also a plus but not a requirement: guests often request cocktails or a glass of wine, and often times this position will help out in restaurant as a host, runner, or bar person if restaurant is quite busy after check-in hours.
This is a great job for someone who loves hospitality, or has great executive experience and wants to dip their feet into the hospitality world.
