Purpose:

The New Home Design Assistant assists New Home Design Coordinators and customers by providing design and sales services, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer excellence which meet and exceed customer satisfaction goals, financial results, and employee satisfaction.

In this role, you will:

• Accurately follow standardized procedures or processes;
• Aids the team effort in every way possible & acts in the best interest of the company;
• Flexibility with schedule for customers and/or company needs;
• Be able to professionally communicate over the telephone, email and in person with customers, staff and vendors;
• Answer phones;
• Meet & greet customers;
• Update Reports and calendars;
• Keep Director of Design Center and Director of Sales informed with daily office activities;
• Introduces purchasers to Design Gallery, including services offered, design process and objectives;
• Open, inspect and close Design Gallery daily;
• Ensure appearance and cleanliness of Design Gallery at all times;
• Maintains notes and files throughout the design process to ensure consistent service delivery;
• Maximizes revenue & profit potential while respecting a purchaser’s entitlement to service excellence regardless of their ability or choice to purchase optional upgrades;
• Coordinates the scheduling of purchaser appointments and the selection of interior fixtures, fittings and finishes within the schedule determined by Minto;
• Completes on-site inspections when required to monitor the implementation of selections/finishes.
• Supplies project management with additional detail drawings and clarification of design specifications as required throughout construction;
• Promotes and respects the Minto brand and the company’s mission, values, and code of conduct;
• Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

• Consultative sales training and experience is an asset
• Knowledge of and experience with a broad range of design styles is an asset
• Experience specifying materials for interiors to meet specific client criteria
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook
